Question

Lightroom and Photoshop adding a dimming effect to my photos

I've been editing my photos, removing only background people in both lightroom (Classic) and photoshop (2025).  No other edits. This is on my MAC OS 14.2.1. When I download them and view them on my iPhone next to the original, the edited version is dimmer.  It's not about calibration because I'm not making any edits other than removing items from the background.  And I'm viewing the Original Photo right next to the Edited Photo on my same iPhone.  Why is Adobe doing this and how do I make it stop?  It's the same dim effect whether I use Lightroom or Photoshop.  Exporting to RGB Color in photoshop and sRGB in Lightroom, I believe.

Hey @sierra_2086

I've moved your post to the Discussions board for now, just until we can confirm whether this is a bug. To help us get started, could you share a screenshot of your export settings in Lightroom Classic?

Sorry for the many photos.  Screenshot wasn't working.

Hey @sierra_2086

I'm so sorry for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for sharing the screenshots! It doesn’t look like any edits are being applied during export. If possible, could you share a sample of the original image along with one of the exported versions? That’ll help us take a closer look.
