Lightroom and REAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi everyone,

while Adobe seems wants to use all its energies to build a software to modify the reality with the AI (90% of the advertisements – email, websites, social networks only promote the AI’s features to eliminate people or objects, change the colours, etc.) I’m impressed by the partnership between the most important American news agency ‘Associated Press’ (AP) and the Danish company Capture One.

What do you think about it?

It’s not about the possibility to use or not use the AI, It’s about the direction that Adobe decided to give to the Photography pushing people to use the AI more and more massively.

All the best,

eliano

So give us an example (or even two examples) of what this partnership between AP and Capture One has done that perhaps Adobe (and its users) could benefit from. Without an example (or even two examples), its nearly impossible for me to determine if your suggestion is a good one, or not.

I think there is benefit to Adobe and its users when Adobe adds AI tools, and of course, there are also non-AI tools being added all the time, like the new feathering of masks. Just because you don’t feel there is a benefit does NOT mean everyone thinks this way.

By the way, your definition of REAL PHOTOGRAPHY may not be everyone’s definition. Maybe some (lots of?) Adobe users don’t want to do REAL PHOTOGRAPHY by your definition. What does REAL PHOTOGRAPHY mean to you, anyway?

I don’t feel pushed. But I do notice how many of the posts are about AI not working.

I see Adobes AI functionality as additional tools in the processing tool box. I can choose to use those tools or not. Generally, I’m extremely happy with the continuous improvements to Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. I find them very useful for a lot of my work and wish they had been available years ago.
