Lightroom auto applies preset after saving from photoshop

For my workflow I regularly open a set of 3-10 images into photoshop from the Lightroom "open as layers in photoshop" command. When I save and close the image I've worked on in photoshop, the image that is loaded back into lightroom has a preset automatically applied to it. Anyone know how to turn that off? The preset that is being applied does NOT have "Apply on Import" checked (none of my presets have that checked). No presets are applied when I initially import RAW images, it's only applying the preset when syncing the tiff file that is saved out of PS and automatically imported back into LR. It doesn't happen every time, but often. I've chatted with other architectural photographers that experience the same bug.
