Question

Lightroom cannot copy and import photos after Big Sur update

Since upgrading to Big Sur, i can no longer import photos into Lightroom Classic.

I can click the Import button and the Copy and Import Photo message appears as if its about to do this but then nothing happens. If I cancel this i get a message saying 'The following files weere ot imported because the destinaiton is not writable'.

Is this a bug? I upgraded LRC to 10 and the same hing happens so I am assuming it's more likely that Big Sur has some settings I need to maually change? Grateful for any help or ideas!

Thanks you,

Richard

Everyone should Always WAIT to upgrade to a new MacOS as Apple changes it to the point most current program don't work with the newer version.

This has happened over and over with the release of newer version of OS X, MacOS now 11. But no one listens or remembers.

What was your previous MACOS?

The one before - was that Catalina?

When Catalina??? If that was it. Did you alter Fikes and Security?

Outside of LrC, in the MACOS, bring up System Preferences, select Security and Privacy. Select Privacy, scroll down to Files and Folders, make sure all media types are checked for Lightroom Classic. Perhaps scroll up to Full Desk Access, let Lightroom Classic have it.

I have gone through all the settings on mac to ensure the folders arent locked or are writable to but no luck at all. No idea what it can be!
