Question

Lightroom Cannot read files from Hard drive

Heya,

I am having the weirdest problem.

Some photos are on an external hard drive and when I go to import them into Lightroom they are all greyed out as if already imported.

I have tried moving the files to my desktop and having the same problem. The photos open fine in Photoshop.

They aren't already imported in a different Lightroom Catalog so I am really confused why this is happening.

Other folders from the same hard drive are also fine and importing as normal.

Any ideas welcome

This has nothing to do with the images already being imported in a different catalog, what Lightroom Classic is telling you is that they are already imported in this catalog.  It's possible they were imported as copies in another folder, however.

Explain further. Especially explain how you know these photos are not already imported into this Lightroom Classic catalog. (PS: My web browser will not show file attachments here. Better to use the "Insert Photos" icon)
