Lightroom catalog gets corrupted all the time

It happens to me all the time that I get the "corrupt catalog" legend in Lightroom CC Classic. This makes me lose all my settings, keywords, photo edits because I have to redo a catalog from scratch. Why is this happening? It's very annoying, I lose all the work of months!

Just today it occurred to me that in all the years I've used Lightroom (since v3), I have never seen a corrupt catalog. And by now I have over 150 000 photos in the work catalog, and 35 000 in the private catalog.

No, this doesn't help you, I know. The point is that if you have this much corruption, something is causing it. You should really go over your hardware and system with a torchlight. Something's not right.

Yep, I'm in exactly the same boat - I've never had a corrupt catalogue (since v 1.1) and I agree 100% with your conclusion.

Melisa, as the others have said, this is certain to be a problem with your PC, not with LightRoom per se.

This is almost always caused by hard disk malfunction. Please unzip a recent backup and try placing the catalog file on a different location on the same disk; and if that doesn't help, unzip a recent backup AGAIN and place it on a different disk.
