Lightroom CC Book Module - Size change after layout complete

Hello All,

I have completed and printed a Large Landscape-size book and now need to produce a copy in the standard landscape size. I was hoping Lightroom would scale down all the photos (including layout and padding etc.) to the new size with no adjustments; however, most layout formatting is lost when changing the book size.

The book sizes appear to be the same proportions so I am surprised this isn't accommodated. I want to avoid having to produce a duplicate book from scratch.

Further, I have tried uploading the .PDF to Blurb as a standard landscape size but it recognises the Large Landscape format and shunts me into using that.

Does anyone know if this is possible without having to start at square one again? Sure LR can scale down the formatting?

Thanks and appreciated,

John

AFAIK, this option is not available. I guess that so few people ever do this, that Adobe didn't think it was worth the effort to implement this.

Please upvote this issue if you want the bug fixed (or feature added if you can somehow see it from Adobe's point of view).

Why won't they add a custom book size when you select PDF. It makes no sense. Could be a political thing with Blurb.

I wanted to do the opposite, from standard landscape to large landscape. And I wanted to create a duplicate so I would not lose the version I had already published. What I found was that by right clicking on the book in the collection panel (in the Book module) there is a duplicate option. There is some tweaking required (resolution is poorer at the larger size, photo window sizing may need to be changed, etc.). But this seems to be exactly what I wanted without starting again, nor having to do too much rework.

Thanks Johan, appreciated.

I have a few clients requesting different sizes for their albums i.e. a large one for them and smaller ones for their families. I guess I've no choice but to start from scratch. Looks like my fee just went up!

Thanks for your reply,

John
