Lightroom CC Classic Adjustment brush causes freezing. Ideas?

Hi,

My computer is freezing when I use the adjustment brush. I am pretty much having to restart my computer most times I use the adjustment brush, even after only a few edits on a photo that is otherwise unretouched. Any news on this Adobe or somebody else? I have turned off the graphics processor, to no avail. I have a high performance computer.

Thanks in advance for any insights, or better yet, fixes.
