Every time I try to log on to my Lightroom CC and Lightroom CC Classic it crashes. Everything is up to date but it still crashes. I just updated my windows 10 to the newest version this afternoon and I'm wondering if it could be that but I don't know how to fix it. Can someone help me?

Thank you everyone for your answers. It did turn out to be the new Microsoft 10 September 2017 update. Once went back to the prior Microsoft 10 update and now everything works just fine.

I am having the same issue. Using a Mac, everytime I open Lightroom CC Classic the application crashes before I am able to click on anything.

I have been unable to find a fix for this and would love to know if anyone has  got it sorted?

    Running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6

I am not a Mac person, but a couple of Adobe help pages, if you have not already tried-

How to set Lightroom Classic CC preferences

Lightroom doesn't launch or closes automatically after splash screen

Still having this same issue, but intermittently, maybe once a month. LR CC Classic will just stop responding 15-20 seconds after startup. Sometimes it will resolve itself within a couple of minutes/restarts, but other times it has persisted for hours on end. Have tried all the solutions above, and none solve my issue. Tend to just keep restarting LR and my PC until it eventually works - Infuriating when you have editing on a deadline!

Running the most recent version of both LR and Windows 10.

Ugh.  That means we have to bypass MSOFT security patches.

Has there been a more reasonable solution?

I'm in the same boat. I use LRCCclassic everyday, and everything was fine until this morning. It now repeatedly and constantly crashes about 10 seconds after starting the program.

I keep saying I need to learn how to use CaptureOne. It looks like now is that time.

    UPDATE:

After screwing around with this problem for another hour, I was finally able to get the crashing to stop.

Upon opening your catalog, quickly turn off any synced collections to LR mobile.

Doing so has solved my constant crashing problem. LRCC is still a stupid pain in the ass, but at least it doesn't trip over itself just trying to start anymore.

    Guh.

I did manage to resolve this issue. I ended up restoring from my backup, so I only lost three days work. Then of course I got the whole "this looks like a copy and we can't sync it" issue, which was resolved in its own way.

I have looked at other options but, frankly, I've invested too much time in Lightroom to switch now. Which I guess is why Lightroom doesn't really give a damn about the user experience.

Do you have tried to deactivate the GPU support?

Did you get any error messages?

I'm having the same issue. I can't keep Lightroom Classic running long enough to change any preferences. I was working with it all afternoon without a problem but when I updated my collection that syncs to mobile it started to have problems.

Lightroom starts just fine but within 20 seconds I get an error window and it closes down. The error window doesn't mention any cause.

On Windows 10, everything up to date. As I said, it was working fine an hour ago and now it's not.
