Question

LightRoom CC Freezing when importing files

For almost 3 hours I have been trying to import files from my canon 1D.

I have done the usual steps, then it gets to importing then sits on 'Imorting files' and does nothing.

I head read trouble shooting which advised me to uninstall then re install - Ive done  that - nothing.

I have also deleted the catalogue in error thinking that is what i had to do - turns out not - and its have now been deleted.

I can't get the files off my camera an into light room - there seems to be no way to do this.

Could my machine be full? Could there be a technical problem that I am not aware of?

I have followed the same download steps for 6 months and never had a problem until today - this a client job and I can't ge the files unto light room from my camera  please advise.

What is your exact version of LR and your OS?

What is the file format? Are you seeing previews in Import?

Lightroom is CC 2015.8 updated

My OS is OS X Yosemite ( 10.10.5)

My pictures are RAW and yes I see the previews in Import

What you call GPU , is it Intel Iris Open GL engine ? I deactivated it, didn't help.

The message coming up on the screen says that the import is impossible because " non accessible en ecriture (1) . Not accessible in writing (1)

This usually means exactly what it says: LR can not write at the target location you are trying to import to.

Check write permission at the target import location.
