Lightroom CC will no longer copy to backup location

Lightroom has stopped making backup copies to external drive. Does anyone know of a reason for this? I have checke that the relevant setiings have been made but every time I import new photos  a message pops up saying can't copy to backup drive.

    Assuming you are using Lr-Classic. (Lightroom does not have a 'backup' option TBMK)

     

    Is the drive for the backup copy an external, and plugged in?

    Is the drive for the backup copy an external, and may have changed its drive letter (or path)?

    Does the backup drive have full Read/Write permissions for the backup location?

    Have you checked the drop-down menu for the [Make a Second Copy to] option location?
