Lightroom Classic 10.4 on macOS Catalina still not opening

I haven't used Lightroom Classic in about 2 months, but it was working fine in May. Recently, while on 10.3, I opened the app only to have it crash on me. Upon opening the app, I saw the splash screen, the icon showed up in my dock, and then it disappeared; never opening the application. I revereted back to 10.2 and that did not work either.

Luckily 10.4 was released and I updated the app after reading in the relase notes and noticed mention that the following was fixed, "Lightroom Classic crashes on launch."

After upgrading, the applicaiton is still crashing on me. I have un- and re-installed the app. I have even signed out of Creative Cloud, signed back in, and also un- and re-installed Lightroom, but nothing. When trying to uninstall Creative Cloud, I was alerted that I had apps that were still installed (of course), and therefore, Creative Cloud couldn't be uninstalled. That said, that same prompt offered to repair CC. I did that and it didn't help. I again signed-out and then -in to see if that helped - nothing.

I have no crash logs since the app merely displays the splash and then disappears. Any ideas?

One step I do not notice in what you have tried is restoring the preference file, also,known as resetting the preference file.

The preference file can get corrupted, leading to buggy behavior. The preference file will survive updates, upgrades, uninstalls, and reinstalls.

Restoring the preference file is basically deleting the preference file, then upon restart of LrC, a fresh new preference file gets created. Note that existing settings in preferences will get reset to defaults.

Hello @GoldingD , thank you for your help.

I followed the link and tried both Method 1 & 2. After deleting the preferences file. I restarted the machine, and then launched Lightroom Classic. Both times, the application displayed the splash screen and once again shut down.

Interestingly enough, using Method 1 yielded a proper crash/problem report. Usually upon Lightroom failing to open, nothing else occurs. Using Method 1, the splash screen appeared, dissapeared, and then a prompt displayed the crash/problem. I have attached screenshots of what I saw on my desktop, as well as a crash report in a .txt file.
