Lightroom Classic 12 / Windows 10 - Mask panel disappears whilst making adjustments

I've just upgraded to LRC 12. Generally all seems well but I find that the stand-out mask panel (whether full-sized or minimised) now disappears while adjustments are made to any mask selected, eg. exposure, contrast, any adjustment at all. The panel re-appears on left-clicking in the image area or on pressing 'Enter' (but on pressing 'Edit' it closes altogether). Not sure if this counts as a bug or as a feature but it's certainly annoying if there are several masks in play as it's all too easy to forget which one is under adjustment!

I believe this is intentional. It's done so the panel does not obscure any part of the image while you make your edits.

I can confirm this happens if the mask panel is not docked under the Histogram.

You might consider moving the Mask Panel, docking it under the Histogram.

Thankyou for that. Most helpful! Which said, I rather wish Adobe had let us choose whether or not the free-floating panel 'suppressed'
