Lightroom Classic 13.0 Importing from iPhone 14 Pro Max

Just recently, in the past few days, my Lightroom  Classic freezes when I try to import photos from my iPhone 14 Pro Max via a USB to Lightning cable.  I am able to see all the photos on my phone, and I can select the photos I want to import, but when I click the IMPORT button in the lower right, the progress bar in the upper left doesn't show any progress and nothing is imported.

 

I've tried the latest update to Lightroom Classic  13.0.1 and still won't import.

 

Is this something I need to change on my iPhone or on my iMac.  I've checked to make sure I have enough hard drive space and there's plenty.  Does anyone have any ideas?

    I wanted to add another issue I'm having...when I quit Lightroom Classic, the window closes, but it remains in my tray still running.  I have to use the Force Quit command.
