Lightroom Classic 13-3 upgrade and must import

Okay folks,

Not happy at all. Just opened Lightroom Classic to find some photos and find out I have to upgrade the catalog. No problem...upgrade. But then nothing shows up and it says to click "import". I just want to see my previous catalog. Someone tell me how I can do that without having to go through a process. I have the backups and everything else, but I am not going to import everything all over again. Apparently the programmers didn't make sure this upgrade worked properly before releasing it.

Sounds like Lightroom lost the connection to the upgraded catalog and created a brand new catalog instead. That happens sometimes. Search for your (upgraded) catalog and double click it to launch Lightroom and let it know that it should use this catalog and not a new one.

Thank you for your response. I was apparently loading the wrong lrcat file, found the right one and...now no photos are showing. Apparently there is a whole lot more I need to understand about the way Lightroom does things. If everything was working fine before the upgrade, it should upgrade without any difficulty and carry on. So my photo files are somewhere else apparently, but so far I can't find anything in Lightroom that reveals a link to where they are looking for the photos to be. I guess I'll keep looking for the info, too many options in Lightroom to make this an easy task.

I found the "locate" feature, but that's not very helpful, it only takes you to big folder where the photo might be. Then you have to look for it. Wonderful!
