Lightroom Classic 13.4 Confusion

I'm confused!  Upgraded to 13.4 a few hours ago and would've expected (when I went to open it) that I'd get the upgrade your catalog message.

I didn't.  The catalog that opened was 13.3.  I double checked the preferences to make sure the open latest catalog was in there as the default.  It was.  I double checked to make sure that 13.4 was in fact downloaded.  It was.  So!  How come I didn't get the upgrade your catalog message?  Does it need to be upgraded?  Should it be upgraded?.....Izzy from Brooklyn

Normally this occurs at upgrades. As in going from v12 to v13. Normally a change in the second digit of LrC version indicates an update, not an upgrade. An requirement to upgrade the catalog occurs when the SQLight database is altered by Adobe (often in an upgrade). Normally this does not occur during updates, like going from v13.3 to v13.4. The LrC update to v13.3 as an update was abnormal in that it caused/called for, an upgrade of the catalog.

No upgrade of the catalog going from v13.3 to v13.4 is the normal expected behaviour.

Why would you expect that? A point update normally does not upgrade your catalog. Your catalog was not upgraded when you updated Lightroom Classic from 13.0 to 13.1. It was also not upgraded when you updated from 13.1 to 13.2. Same for all the 12.x to 12.y updates. The catalog upgrade from 13.2 to 13.3 was the exception, not the rule.
