Lightroom Classic 14.4 – Severe Performance Drop (Photo Switching, Cropping, Exporting)

Hi Adobe,

I’m experiencing serious performance issues in Lightroom Classic 14.4, despite using high-end hardware:

My Specs:

  • CPU: Intel i7-10700K

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super

  • RAM: 64 GB DDR4

  • Drive: Samsung Gen4 NVMe SSD

  • OS: Windows 11 (latest build)

Problems:

  • Switching between RAW images takes 3–5 seconds

  • Cropping, brushing, masking are very laggy

  • Exporting takes significantly longer than in past versions

  • Same lag even with Smart Previews, optimized catalog, and high cache

I’ve Already Tried:

  • Fresh new catalog

  • Rebuilt previews

  • GPU settings (on/off/custom)

  • Presets/profiles removed

  • Smart Preview editing only

  • Cache bumped to 50GB

  • Lightroom-only background environment

These issues did not exist in 12.5, which was smooth and fast. Many others across Reddit and Adobe forums have echoed this. Please escalate this issue and let us know if any fixes are coming.

Thanks.

One thing you haven't tried (or didn't mention) is updating the GPU driver to the latest studio driver (not the latest game-ready driver).
