Try unzipping a recent backup copy of your catalog file, and see if that file will open in LrC. Double-click on the unzipped catalog file in your operating system (Windows Explorer or Mac Finder) to open the file.

Participating Frequently

Same I can't get one to open and keep getting this error. I uninstalled, reinstalled and reverted to an older version too. All the same problem.

This could be due to a issue with Catalogname.lrcat-data.

Try the following steps:

Goto the folder with your catalog file and delete Catalogname.lrcat-data. For a backup copy this file to a save place on your drive first.
Open Lightroom Classic, you’ll see a message about the missing data file.
Click Continue, and Lightroom will create a fresh version of it.

Then check. If Lightroom is running, provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

you can also try to reset the preferences of Lightroom Classic: How to reset Lightroom Classic preferences (adobe.com)

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:
