Hello Adobe Team!  RE: Tethering Issue:  I have the lastest Canon R5 mark2 Firmware and Lastest Lightroom Classic version. As soon as I upgraded to Tahoe several days, I cannot tether any more. I have spent several hours (two separate times) screen sharing with Adobe Support to no avail.

Hello

Circling back to my issue: After up grading to OS 26.2 on my MacBook Pro M1 laptop, Lightroom 15.1 will NOT tether with my Canon R5 Mark 2 firmware 1.2.0.

Everything works perfectly on my MacStudio desktop OS 15.6.1

I update the Canon Firmware after the issue started. I update the firmware in hope of correcting the issue.

After all of my tests, research and screen sharing with Adobe support, the only conclusion I have come to is the the Mac OS 26.2 is not totally commutable with Lightroom 15.1

Is there a fix in the works —or—  a work around?

Hi there,

Not sure if this is helpful, I'm on Tahoe 26.2 with the R6 MKII, but an older Canon firmware Version 1.1.4 vs Version 1.6.0.

Lightroom does connect after a long 60 seconds.  I’ve just tested, and it seems ok when I’ve done three shots tethered.

Hope that helps. 😃

Hi @stevep32305490, welcome to the community!
Could you share the exact version number of Lightroom Classic you’re using? You can find it under Help > System Info. There was a recent bug with Canon cameras and tethering that got fixed in an update, details are here:
https://adobe.ly/4qnUxCC
You can also try these steps:
• Connect the camera to Lightroom Classic while it’s powered on
• Launch tethering
• While still plugged in, switch the camera off and back on
Hope this helps!

Hello Alek

After Tahoe update I can't tether with my Canon R5 Mark 2

I’m using Lightroom Classic 15.1

Hi @stevep32305490,

Thanks for confirming the details. Given that this started immediately after the macOS Tahoe update and you’re on Lightroom Classic 15.1 with the Canon R5 Mark II, there are a couple of controlled checks that would help narrow this down:

• If possible, test by rolling back Lightroom Classic to 15.0.1. There was a known Canon tethering issue that was resolved in earlier builds, and this will help confirm whether the behavior is version-specific.

• If Canon allows it, try temporarily reverting to an earlier camera firmware to see if tethering resumes. This helps determine whether the issue is introduced by the latest firmware rather than Lightroom or macOS.

• Please also go through the official tethering troubleshooting steps here.

If the issue persists after testing firmware 15.0.1 or an earlier version, please share your System Info from Help > System Info so we can escalate this issue with precise environment details.

Thanks for your patience,

Anshul Saini
