Lightroom Classic 15.2 – Lag when switching photos in Develop module

Question

After upgrading Adobe Lightroom Classic to version 15.2, selecting or switching between photos in the Develop module is still laggy.

When I move to the next photo (using arrow keys or clicking another image), there is a noticeable delay before the image loads. This makes editing slower than before.

My system:

Mac (Apple Silicon)
M2 Max
macOS Sequoia 15.7.3

Has this issue been fixed in version 15.2, or are there any recommended settings to improve performance in the Develop module?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reports about LR being sluggish moving to the next photo in Develop have tailed off considerably since 15.1 and then 15.2 were released. But see here for a list of magic spells that have each helped at least a couple people with those symptoms:
