Lightroom Classic 15.5 & 15.5.1 frequently crashes on Windows 11

When you exit, it just sits in the background then begins to consume ram. Hard exiting from Task Manager seems to work, but upon restarting it shows it’s a process but never appears as an app in the foreground or background.

Sorry for the delayed follow-up on this. Since you originally reported frequent crashes with Lightroom Classic 15.5, could you both let us know whether you’re still experiencing them after updating to the v15.5.1?

If the crashes are still occurring, a few details would help us narrow this down:

• What are you usually doing immediately before Lightroom Classic crashes, Develop, masking, switching photos, importing/exporting, or something else?
• Does Lightroom Classic close suddenly, freeze, and require you to end the process, or display an error first?
• Is there a particular catalog or set of images that makes the crash easier to reproduce?
• Please go to Help > System Info > Copy and paste the information here.

If Lightroom Classic displays the Adobe Crash Reporter, please submit the crash report and use the same email address associated with your Community account so we can correlate the reports.

As one targeted test, if the crashes seem to occur primarily while working in Develop, go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, temporarily set Use Graphics Processor to Off, restart Lightroom Classic, and see whether the same workflow remains stable. This isn’t intended as a permanent workaround; it can help determine whether the crashes involve the GPU-accelerated processing path.

If the current release has already resolved the crashes for you, please let us know that as well.

Since I downloaded the last Lightroom 15.5.1 update, the program crashes every five or so minutes. I have Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF, 32 GB RAM 16 GB Graphic card. 

Lightroom 15.5 has crashed and I can’t get it to restart!!!

I use WIN 11 and I’ve had no issues with crashing?
