Lightroom Classic 15.6 does not enable RTX 5060 Ti GPU on Windows 11

Description of issue

Lightroom Classic 15.6 / Camera Raw 18.7 does not enable GPU acceleration on my Windows 11 PC with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti.

The GPU is detected in Lightroom Classic System Info, but Lightroom disables all GPU acceleration. In Preferences > Performance, both GPU options are greyed out and Lightroom reports: “Graphics processor acceleration is not supported by your system.”

Lightroom Classic version

Lightroom Classic 15.6 [202609251514-f839cde9]
Camera Raw 18.7 [2743]

Operating system

Windows 11 Home, version 11.0.26200, 64-bit

GPU and driver

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti
Dedicated GPU memory: 16,050 MB
NVIDIA Studio Driver 616.92
OpenGL renderer: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 616.92

Relevant Lightroom System Info

Initial status: GPU not supported
GPUDeviceEnabled: false
Direct2DEnabled: false
GL_RENDERER: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti/PCIe/SSE2
GL_VENDOR: NVIDIA Corporation
GL_VERSION: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 616.92

Steps to reproduce

1. Start Lightroom Classic 15.6 on Windows 11.
2. Open Edit > Preferences > Performance.
3. The “Use Graphics Processor” setting is greyed out and set to Off.
4. Lightroom reports that graphics processor acceleration is not supported.

Expected result

Lightroom Classic should recognise and enable GPU acceleration for the RTX 5060 Ti. The system has 16 GB dedicated VRAM and the GPU is correctly detected by Windows and Lightroom System Info.

Actual result

The RTX 5060 Ti is listed in System Info, but Camera Raw disables it. GPU acceleration is unavailable and Lightroom reports that the GPU is unsupported.

Troubleshooting already completed

- Installed NVIDIA Studio Driver 616.92 using a clean installation.
- Tested a previous NVIDIA Studio Driver version.
- Deleted Camera Raw GPU Config.txt and TempDisableGPU files.
- Reset Lightroom Classic preferences.
- Assigned Lightroom Classic to high-performance NVIDIA GPU in Windows Graphics settings.
- Disabled hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
- Confirmed in Device Manager that the RTX 5060 Ti is the only display adapter.
- Restarted Windows after every relevant change.

Hey, @andr_3701. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

The GPU drivers are from 9th Sept, there is also a recent release from 22nd Sept for GPU Drivers; however, they're Game Ready Drivers.

For now, just empty out the existing GPU logs by following these steps:

    • The GPU info & Logs location is %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw. A shortcut to get to this folder on Windows is:

    • Press the Windows + R

    • Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw

    • Rename the GPU & Logs folder in this directory by adding .old at the end. (GPU.old & Logs.old)

    • Restart Lightroom Classic, which should capture the updated driver & hardware capabilities.

Let me know how it goes.
    Thanks!

    Hi @Sameer K,

Thank you. I closed Lightroom Classic, renamed both folders as requested:

    %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw\GPU to GPU.old
    %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw\Logs to Logs.old

I then restarted Lightroom Classic. New GPU and Logs folders were created, but GPU acceleration is still unavailable. Preferences > Performance still reports that GPU acceleration is not supported.

The GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB VRAM. Lightroom System Info still detects it, but reports GPUDeviceEnabled: false and Direct2DEnabled: false.

I can upload the newly generated logs or any specific files you need.

Hi @Sameer K, One additional detail: before following your GPU and Logs reset steps, I had already installed the newer NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 617.14 WHQL, released on 22 September 2026. I then renamed both folders as requested: %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw\GPU to GPU.old %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw\Logs to Logs.old After restarting Lightroom Classic, new GPU and Logs folders were created, but GPU acceleration is still unavailable. The GPU options remain greyed out and Lightroom still says that graphics processor acceleration is not supported. So the issue occurs with both: - NVIDIA Studio Driver 616.92 - NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 617.14 WHQL The GPU is detected in Lightroom System Info as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16,050 MB dedicated VRAM, but Lightroom reports GPUDeviceEnabled: false and Direct2DEnabled: false. Please let me know which of the newly generated GPU/Logs files you would like me to upload. Thank you.
