Question

Lightroom Classic 2020 update can no longer use Nikon 750 NEF files. Saying unsupported or corrupt.

Updated to the newst version of Classic along with the other updates available 2-3 days ago now. Tried importing NEF files and now LR is saying they are unsupported or corrupt. Only updated one of my machines, other is still the previous version of 2019 classic, files will open and work there just fine. Anyone have a fix for this?

The patch for lghtroom does not work for Nikon d850. I have to remove the XQD  and sd card to import the files

Wow. That was pretty simultaneous. Now we know the file loads both on Windows and Mac OS machines. Still no clue why not on the machines of _albin_ and narkoleptic. If these are Macs running Catalina, make sure that the files are not on a NTFS formatted drive and that the system Preferences are set correctly in Security and Privacy to allow access for Lightroom and Photoshop as seen below:

Unfortunately, system preferences are set correctly...

 

I'll probably reset my computer to start again with a fresh system 😉

I think it will be the best solution!

I had no trouble loading this file in both Lightroom 9 and Photoshop 2020. PS you should really turn on lossless compression in your camera. No need for these files to be 96 MB each. With lossless compression you do not lose any quality but your files will be half the size.

    Please post a NEF file that this happens to using a dropbox, icloud drive, or similar link. People here can see what's going on and if it imports in their Classic 9.0 catalogs. Updating your camera raw plugin as suggested below will not do anything as the ACR plugin is not used by Lightroom.

    Imported fine on my system.

     

    And in Bridge and ACR 12.

      Hello,

      I have exactly the same problem. With all my files (Nikon D850 & Z7).

      I had to backup to 8.41 to work on my files.
