lightroom classic 6.0 random crashes - unable to launch the app

Hi there,

I've been happily using LR standalone for several months now. However, I am not able to launch it anymore. App crashes seconds after presenting the starting screen (launch screen, not the actual app). Tried reseting the preferences with shift + option combo, did not work. The only thing that changed since my last successful LR session was macOS upgrade to High Sierra. Any tips how to get the app running again ? Anyone have similar problem ?

regards,

Andrzej

You can't use your LR6 serial number for an update to Lightroom Classic. This is a full update to which you have pay for.

Deinstall the LR classic version and run the Adobe Cleaner Tool. After that reinstall Lightroom 6 for your installation CD and update to the latest version of LR 6, it's 6.12 at the moment.

Or you can download the installion file of the latest version and do the installation with this file.

Download Photoshop Lightroom

sooooo. the further down the road, the merrier.

As I need to make some photo corrections, I downloaded LR Cloud version. The cloud services were also downloaded..and I found my LR classic there, ready to upgrade. So i did - update went smoothly, BUT I cannot use my serial license number from LR classic (even though the update process said UPDATE). I wants me to go online and subscribe, the only reason I avoided it in the first place.

Now, the new, updated LR Classic launches flawlessly, old LR icon sits on my desktop, unusable, and I am on my LR Classic trial, with now idea how to input my serial number.

Good thing is, I can do what I wanted...
