I bought this program years ago and I just saw a video where they have a de-noise setting on the latest update. I try updating and it says I'm up to date but it's only version 6. Do pc programs not get updates?

You have to pay to subscribe to the Photography Plan to get the current version of Lightroom Classic to get the newest features.

Yes, you could use the new features as part of the 7-day free trial, and that's it, after 7 days you can no longer use the new features.
