Lightroom Classic 9.4 Slideshow module makes preview each time play button is used

How do I keep the slideshow from running the preview module every time I use “play” when there have been no changes in the slideshow whatsoever. I am in manual mode and start and stop the slideshow. This is becoming an issue as I am presenting a talk where I will be sharing images via zoom with another presenter. My images are in LR Clasic slideshow. When I relinquish my share for the other presenter to talk/share his computer, and then the share comes back to me. Anytime I stop the slideshow with escape and then restart (no changes have been made), Lightroom rebuilds the previews. This did not occur in earlier versions of Lightroom. Is there a setting where I can prevent this. It is time consuming and boring for my audience to watch a very slow build of the previews before the slideshow can begin. Thank you.

Not a slideshow person, but I suspect you need to export it, to watch without it making new previews, then you watch the export.

I have exact same complaint. This thread is old but wonder if there is no information. I'm pretty frustrated, putting together a slide show of about 120 images. It is so close to what I want but un-usable. The shows are somwhat interactive. I will often jump back to a few slides previous or sometimes an image not even in the show. But for most of it I want the nice transistion and other effects LR slide show can give me.
Obviously can't do that because if I touch any button it seems it wants to re-build the previews which is about two minutes. Certainly if I want to show an image. Also makes the "preview" pretty useless.

So please everyone just reply with fixes and not work arounds (like exporting to video). I will either export and try some other trivial too (just want the dissolve effects really. The main thing I tried was rendering 1:1 previews first. But I didn't expect that to help because I think the SS previous are the entire screen, not just the image.

So I hope there has been a setting or something I'm missing so the previous will cache on disk, or at least memory until a slilde is changed.
