Lightroom classic

I cannot open my correct catalog of Lr classic. I was instucted to upgrade it - I did, and now  I cannot open the right one and in the new version there are only question marks and no photos. Before I could get to different catalogs of Lr, but now it looks like non of them has my photos or I cannot openit any more. And also I cannot find a chat option for help in adobe page as I used to - only this forum. Please, help.

You have (accidentally?) upgraded the wrong catalog file. Do a search of all of your hard disks, using your operating system's search feature, for files whose name ends with .LRCAT

 

One of these (probably the largest one in terms of file size) is the one you want. Double-click on it to open it. If that's not the right one, keep trying each file found by double-clicking on it to open it until you find the catalog you want.

How to avoid it in the future? I want my Lr to open by itself the correct
catalog. Every time the computer turns off, I have the same problem, and
today no catalog worked until I did something I already forgot, and am
facing the same problem.
Where is adobe chat and other kind of help ?
I appreciate your email, but am not so adobe literate to be fixing all the
problems by email. I do not have time to learn what you are writing about
and need my Lr to be fixed, because this is the base of my job!

In Lightroom Classic Preferences/General, there is an option to indicate which catalog file should be opened each time. You most likely have the wrong option set.
