Lightroom Classic becomes extremely slow on Windows with RTX 3080 Ti

My lightroom is now unusable how slow it is. Tried reinstal and new gpu drivers. Everything is even slower now.

i9 13900 64 GB ram and 3080Ti GPU

    Hi! 
    I found out what was the problem. I had an m.2 SSD that was about to stop working but I didn’t see any signals that it’s going to happen. whet it actaually died on me I changed the SSD, reinstalled windows and adobe programs and now it’s working just fine. To the people reading this. Check your SSD firmware. If it’s older version it can make your SSD unusable after some time.

    Thanks for the details. Since you’ve already tried reinstalling Lightroom and updating the GPU drivers, I’d like to focus on a few more targeted checks.

    Could you try this:

    1. Go to Preferences > Performance and temporarily set Use Graphics Processor to Off. Then restart Lightroom and check whether the slowdown is still present, particularly when switching between photos or working in Develop.
    2. Does the slowdown occur mainly in Develop, or is Lightroom also slow in Library when browsing and switching between images?
    3. Does the performance get progressively worse the longer Lightroom remains open, or is it already slow immediately after launch?
    4. Does this happen with all photos, or particularly with photos containing AI masks, Remove edits, or other intensive Develop adjustments?

    Please also go to Help > System Info, then copy and paste the System Info here. That will let us check the exact Lightroom/Camera Raw, GPU, and Windows configuration.

    If possible, a short screen recording showing the slowdown would also be very useful.

    @mariot84283269, thanks for coming back and sharing what you found. I’m glad you were able to isolate the problem to the failing M.2 SSD and that Lightroom Classic is performing normally again after replacing the drive and reinstalling Windows.

    I also appreciate you documenting the SSD/firmware angle here, which may be useful to others who encounter similar unexplained system-wide performance degradation.
