Lightroom Classic CC 8.2.1 Not Recognizing Uploaded .XMP Presets

I have recently updated from 8.2 to 8.2.1 and tried uploading some new presets to Lightroom Classic. I've been uploading new presets by copying the folder containing the .xmp files into the 'Settings' folder (path: Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Users⁩ ▸ ⁨mike⁩ ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Application Support⁩ ▸ ⁨Adobe⁩ ▸ ⁨CameraRaw ▸ Settings). I've been doing this ever since I've owned Lightroom and I'm 99% sure this is the proper way to copy presets into Lightroom Classic.

What used to happen is that after I copy my presets to this folder and open Lightroom Classic, it will recognize I've uploaded new presets, import them, and I'll see them on the preset pane under the folder they were nestled in.

But what happens now is...nothing. I have the folder w/ the .xmp files in Settings folder with all my other recognized presets, but Lightroom Classic is not showing them in the Preset pane. I talked to customer support who was saying this "feature" was removed in 8.2.1 because not everyone is as "technically advanced" as I am...he was clearly talking out of his butt.

He was insisting the only way to import presets was through the '+' icon on the Preset pane. But this puts the preset under the "User presets" folder. Doing this also puts the presets into a completely different folder structure away from your other presets. So if I wanted to put the presets into their own folder, I had to right-click each preset one by one and select "Move preset" and select the folder from a dropdown menu.

Long story short, how come Lightroom Classic 8.2.1 is not recognizing new presets I drop into the Settings (see 1st paragraph for full folder path) folder?

Unlike in the past, presets no longer show in a submenu that has the same name as the subfolder on disk. The groups in the preset pane are stored inside the preset now. So most likely you are simply looking in the wrong place. You are looking for a group called 'Demas Presets' (because that is the name of the subfolder on disk), but that is not where they will show up. They will show up in a different group or in the user presets group, depending on what is defined in the presets.

That support guy was indeed talking rubbish. Check this setting. If that checkbox isn't marked, then preset that applies a raw-profile will not show at all when you have a non-raw file selected.

Hi JohanElzenga, thank you, I have that setting checked and they're still not showing. I don't think they're uploading at all. You can see in the screenshots that the .xmp files are in the correct folder, but are not shown on the preset pane.
