Lightroom Classic CC crashes on start

Right after selecting a catalog, Lightroom Classic CC crashes and exits.

I lost two days already trying various reset / reinstall / upgrade solutions, nothing works.

My catalogs are converted to the latest format so downgrade is not really an option.

This is an infuriating mess and i'm stuck with this crap and no available options.

System : high Sierra 10.13.1, LR 7.0.1

Where are you opening Lightroom from? The dock?

Imageman2020 & sseany are you also on High Sierra 10.13.2?

Do you have any Lightroom updates pending?

Please open Lr from the CCM at the top of the screen or from your apps folder (not from the dock). Make sure it is the -2.lrcat file.

Do you have two Lr icons in your dock? Right-click and Keep in dock the new icon and delete the old icon.

Have you tried completely signing out of (not quitting) Creative Cloud Manager, quitting all apps, rebooting your computer and signing back in?

I tried :

  • signing out / in again 20+ times
  • quitting / rebooting 20+ times
  • uninstalling / reinstalling latest LR release
  • uninstalling / reinstalling old LR release and applying an update patch
  • uninstalling all Adobe apps and also Adobe app manager and reinstalling
  • same + using the Adobe removal tool
  • manually deleting SLCache & SLStore folders

UGH! Did you contact Adobe Support? Are you able to open Photoshop? I ask to see if this is an account level problem or specific to Lightroom...
