Lightroom Classic CC Sync not working (grayed-out)

Hi,

I recently bought the photography package and am not able to sync my photos because the option is grayed-out.
Any idea how to fix that?

To sync from Lightroom Classic to the cloud, you need to have at least one synced collection. However, not having such a collection should not stop you from syncing, because you could have images that need to be synced from the cloud to Lightroom Classic. You have not defined a location for these images in the preferences, however. Maybe that is what stops Lightroom from starting sync.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I indeed try to sync photos from the cloud to Lightroom Classic. I just checked and there should be around 5000 successfully synced images from another machine.

I also specified the sync location but sadly that did not fix the problem.

LR Classic does NOT work that way. It can only sync from Collections from ONE catalog on ONE computer. So If you have Synced up LR on some other computer, your terminology "Machine", that is the reason you can't sync DOWN from the net those 5000 images.

One Catalog from One computer up or down from the Web system or multiple Mobile Devices running LR CC Mobile, Android or iOS.

But I don't have that problem on my iMac. Even though my Win 7 PC is synced up to the web/mobile system the option to Start syncing from the iMac is still available, Not Greyed Out.

Do you have an Active, Valid, Internet connection on that system? And No AV or internet security system blocking access to the internet?

Do you have a collection with images in it that is marked to be synced with the mobile/web system?

A collection needs that little icon on the left for sync to become active.
