lightroom classic crashes after latest update
Subject: Lightroom Classic – Reproducible UI Instability and Repeated Crashes After the Latest Update
Dear Adobe Support,
I am reporting a serious stability issue that started immediately after installing the latest version of Lightroom Classic.
Environment
Windows 11
Latest version of Lightroom Classic
Catalog optimized
Sufficient free disk space available
Latest graphics drivers installed
Lightroom Classic reinstalled
GPU settings reviewed and tested
Camera Raw cache reviewed and increased
Windows fully updated
Issue Description
Since the latest Lightroom Classic update, the application has become unstable during normal editing sessions.
The issues occur without using any AI-powered features such as AI Denoise, AI Masking, HDR, Super Resolution or Generative Remove.
During normal work in both the Library and Develop modules, I consistently experience the following problems:
The histogram in the Develop module randomly disappears and then reappears several seconds later.
Interface panels load slowly or refresh with noticeable delays.
The behavior of star-rating filters has changed compared with previous versions, causing confusion during image selection.
The interface progressively becomes unstable during the editing session.
Lightroom Classic eventually crashes and closes unexpectedly without displaying any error message.
The latest crash occurred while performing only standard editing tasks:
browsing photographs,
assigning star ratings,
filtering images,
standard Develop adjustments.
No AI feature was running when Lightroom crashed.
Troubleshooting Already Performed
Before contacting Adobe, I have already completed the following troubleshooting steps:
Complete uninstall and reinstallation of Lightroom Classic.
Catalog optimized multiple times.
Catalog integrity verified.
Removal of a very large number of old Lightroom backup catalogs.
Camera Raw cache reviewed and increased.
GPU acceleration settings tested.
NVIDIA optimization for Lightroom disabled.
Graphics drivers updated.
Windows maintenance performed.
Disk space cleaned and verified.
Lightroom preferences reviewed.
Multiple tests performed both with and without AI features.
None of these actions resolved the issue.
History
Before the latest Lightroom Classic update, the application had become significantly more stable after extensive troubleshooting.
Immediately after installing the latest update, new problems appeared:
disappearing histogram,
delayed interface refresh,
modified filtering behavior,
repeated unexpected crashes.
The most recent crash occurred during a completely normal editing session without any AI processing.
This strongly suggests that the issue is related to the latest Lightroom Classic release rather than to my hardware or Windows configuration.
Request
Could you please confirm whether these issues are already known?
If so, I would appreciate:
confirmation that Adobe has reproduced the issue;
any available workaround;
information regarding an upcoming fix;
confirmation that my crash report can be associated with this known issue if applicable.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Joelle Weber
