Lightroom Classic: Desktop crashes on startup after 2 minutes (Windows 10)

This started just before the latest update when importing raws from card, all files where imported as I can see them in CC in web browser. I turned off GPU and that had no affect. I updated to latest version last night, updated password, reset network, turned pc on & off and still to no avail.
We cannot afford to loose years upon years of works, edits, preferences and catolog. Please help as we havent been able to work for 2 over weeks

Please clarify when it crashes, Title vs context, Title imply during import, context imply either at startup, or after two minutes of just running.

You state "all files where imported as I can see them in CC in web browser."

Please expand on that. I do not understand. What files, where are the files, why a web browser.

I assume you have a Photoshop. Does it behave?

If you cannot get the sys info from Lightroom, try the same from Photoshop. This will be short of one bit of info, but might help in simple diagnostics. (missing info on DirectX or Metal vs OpenGL)

Before it crashes, in Lightroom classic, click on a Help, then System Information, Then Copy. Close Lightroom. Paste the sys info in a reply

Bring up lightroom classic. Before the computer crashes, make sure that both Face Detection, and Address Lookup are paused.

Inquiry, was either not paused?

And is any other sync going on?

Hopefully before a crash bring up preferences go to the sync tab, see if anything is syncing, stop it.

Was anything syncing?

Hi There,

Sorry to hear about Lightroom Classic crashing on Windows 10, let's make it right.

Does Lightroom crash only while importing?
Have you tried importing from a local drive?

Try unplugging every external devices from the computer and then try importing from the card.

Let us know if it helps.
Regards,
Sahil

Hi, I don't have to do any thing (literally) other than running Lightroom, wait 1-2 minutes and it crashes. In fact it looks like its just closing I only got a crash screen once. I have no externals plugged in. The issue is not the importing its the crashing even when not doing anything. Yours Sincerely, Dave
