Lightroom Classic created virtual copies on its own

Just moved back to Lightroom after being unsatisified with alternatives that I tried and while reviewing photos in my library have found that Lightroom has created virtual copies of nearly every photo! I occasionally create virtual copies but not of every photo. Any ideas on how to fix this without going through all 20k+ photos and deleting the virtual copies?

It's curious that Lightroom Classic created virtual copies of everything. What process did you take to import your photos?

I found a way to do this without selecting each virtual copy individually. Guess I should have done a web search before posting this. I had looked for the specific problem but couldn't find it, which is why I posted. Then I had the bright idea to look for a solution and found it almost right away.
