Question

Lightroom Classic creates another folder path on macOS

Lightroom has created another folder path and claims the original folder (which is the same) is not writable.  The catalog is pointing to the original folder where I have 264k files and the new folder it created has a few empty subfolder listed.  When I "find the missing folder", lightroom claims there is an existing folder and would like to merge the two but I click this and nothing happens.  I've already created a new catalog and initially it did not recreate the error message - it took a few days but the error came back.

I have a subscription I'm using the latest versions of your software. I was able to resolve my issue so far by "Optimize Catalog" so far it seems to help. Nonetheless lightroom classic catalog updates is even slower than before.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble with Lightroom Classic. We are here to help.

Could you please share the version of Lightroom Classic you are working on from Help > About Lightroom Classic?

Have you recently upgraded the macOS to Monterey (v12.4& above)?

Please check this thread and ensure Lightroom Classic is added under  Full Disk Access & Accessibility in the macOS preferences: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/quick-tips-how-to-give-full-disk-access...

Let us know if this helps,

Thanks!
