Question

Lightroom Classic Develop Module: Cursor jumps to end of text field if delete key is used to edit.

I'm importing photos in LC.

In the Develop Module, the 'Custom Text' field for naming files, and the 'Into Subfolder' field for folder names, when I edit the previous entry such as changing a single date digit, the cursor jumps to the end of the field rather than staying in place to continue editing at the same place in the text. This is not suitable for workflow when importing months of personal photos, or in a work setting at all. I haven't noticed this happening anywhere else, but I'm only importing photos at the moment. Costing me lots of time...!!

Thanks for any help, or to please let me know if this becomes an acknowledged problem that will be addressed.

Here is that video screengrab... that's a new trick for me, very cool, thanks. The problem also happens in the Custom Text field up higher for creating file names. Typically it's the same as my folder name. I didn't show you that.

Ok, In LrC, click on Help, then System Information, Copy that information, and post in a reply. If you can, please truncate that info to just the items from first line down to just after plugin info. All that geeky stuff after the plugin info just eats up scroll space.

I'll work on that video grab...  Thanks..!  In retrospect, I'm thinking the logical thing to do is to reinstall the last version that WAS compatible with my Mac. And then I'm not sure that is possible anymore due to the Cloud feature.

In the Develop Module, the 'Custom Text' field for naming files, and the 'Into Subfolder' field for folder names,

Develop Module?? Do you mean Library Module?

I don't have a Develop module anymore either

What exact version of LrC do you have? Current is v13.0.1

Well it turns out that I DO have a Develop Module, I have all the modules actually, there is a little fly-out arrow at the top of the screen that was hiding them all, probably got that way from an errant mouse click, or maybe from the latest update. OOPS.

Now to correct myself as well regarding the Original Post, it's not in the Develop Module that I have this text editing issue. It is in the Import window, where I enter metadata, and where I create file names and folder names. I didn't know what to call that window at the time, and incorrectly called it the Develop Module. My bad.

So I still have the text editing issue in the Import Window, but again, since there are now 3 updates for Mac since my current version, and Creative Cloud App tells me that LIghtroom is not compatible with my computer, I think that's where the problem lies. I have to face facts and get a new computer before I can complain anymore about this issue. CC app says there is an update available for Photoshop as well, but if I try, it warns me that it's non compatible with my computer. I think I must've let the Lightroom updates happen regardless of this message and now I have this issue. So... I must adapt or get left behind. Thanks...!!!!!

I think I have discovered what might be the problem, but I don't think anybody is listening anyway. I don't have a Develop module anymore either, so my research led me to this conclusion. My computer just became obsolete, and that's why I don't get a reply at all from anyone.  2014 MacBookPro. My Creative Cloud app tells me so.

So I'm at Adobe's mercy but it means I have to spend a couple G for a new Mac apparently. That's our new world..!

I'm finding instances of this in the Keyword field as well in the Develop Module. Does anybody else have this problem I'm describing...? Do I need to explain myself more clearly..?

NOBODY...??

NOTHING...??

Are these upvotes even a thing..?

This really sucks, it's causing lots of lost time, especially if I don't look at the screen when I edit.

Please respond Adobe, or get it fixed stat..!!
