Lightroom Classic disables full GPU pipeline on AMD RX 6700 XT (GPU detected, but Direct2D & GPUDevi
I’m experiencing a consistent GPU pipeline fallback in Lightroom Classic that I cannot resolve through settings, cache resets, or driver reinstalls.
System
Lightroom Classic: 15.1.1
OS: Windows 11 Business, build 26200
CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X
RAM: 64 GB DDR5
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB VRAM)
Driver: AMD Adrenalin 25.11.1 WHQL (also tested other WHQL versions)
Display: BenQ SW320, 4K @ 144% DPI, hardware-calibrated (ICC correctly assigned)
Symptoms
GPU is detected and VRAM is actively used (3–4 GB).
GPU is used for export and preview generation.
However, Develop UI is not fully GPU accelerated:
pan / zoom / sliders are not fully smooth
behavior matches CPU fallback mode
Lightroom System Info (relevant lines)
This persists after:
forcing GPU usage (Custom → display + image processing enabled)
deleting all Lightroom caches
clean driver reinstall (DDU + Custom Install + Factory Reset)
verifying Windows Color Management (single correct ICC profile assigned)
Important notes
This is not a calibration issue (BenQ SW320 uses hardware LUT).
This is not a cache issue (fresh cache rebuilt).
This is not a detection issue (GPU is detected and used partially).
It appears Lightroom intentionally disables Direct2D and full GPUDeviceEnabled in this configuration.
Is there any other driver recommended?
