Lightroom Classic fails to launch.

About 3 weeks ago, LRC 14.0.1 simply failed to launch.  Before this it was working fine.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times and tried rolling back to previous versions (13.5.1 & 14.0), but no luck.

I don't get any error message and can see the app running in task manager, but nothing happens.

Any suggestions how to trouble shoot this?

Could it be to do with a windows update?  I'm running W11 Pro 10.0.22631 Build 22631 on an i7 Dell XPS with 16GB RAM

Thanks,

Chris

Try resetting the preferences of Lightroom Classic:  How to reset Lightroom Classic preferences (adobe.com)

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

Nice one, that worked, along with deleting the lock file!

Using Windows File Explorer, bring up the folder your catalog is in, take a screenshot of that info and paste into a reply. Suspecting a lock file.

Yeah, I investigated that previously and it looked like it was the issue, however  deleting the lock file didn’t help it launch.

I’ve now tried deleting the preferences, rebooting, and then deleting the lock file and this seems to have done this trick!!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
