Lightroom Classic freezing. After forced closure it's filling up my C drive.

Windows 11 OS. Lightroom Classic freezing, when I'm using the new AI masking.  (BTW I'm getting a new GPU) However after forced closure it's filling up my C drive. Where can I find the dumped files I can delete and recover the hard drive space? I've already done the obvious cleaning using Windows' utilities. Thank you - Peter

Hey, @PRPhoto_UK. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more context to help you with this.

 

Do you store your RAW images on the C drive? How large is your image collection? 

 

In Lightroom Classic, go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, check the section for 'Camera Raw Cache Settings,' and check the maximum limit you've set there. 

 

Additionally, Lightroom generates and stores previews for your images right next to where you store your Lightroom catalog, which is in the 'Pictures' folder on the C drive by default. Depending on the type of Previews you generate for your images in Lightroom Classic, this preview database can start to occupy a large chunk of space on the drive.

Hi, Thank you for your speedy reply, I've just got my machine back after a graphic card upgrade (LRCV no longer freezes) and a larger C drive.

 

Originally PS and LRC were installed on my C Drive, the images etc always went onto my D Drive Picture folder, by default. My catalogue is also stored on my D drive. When the problem started and my C drive began to fill up exponentially, I moved both programs onto my D drive, however the problem continued. BTW the AdobeCC app remained and remains on my C drive.  I haven't been able to locate what and where to clean up to recoved the drive space.
