Lightroom Classic – Image flickers/shakes during editing with RTX 5080 (GPU acceleration issue)

Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a serious and frustrating issue with Lightroom Classic on Windows 11 when GPU acceleration is enabled.

Problem:

Whenever I hover over the image (e.g., in Develop module), or make adjustments like:

  • Curves

  • Exposure

  • Contrast

  • Masks
…the image flickers, jumps, or visibly shakes. It makes precise editing nearly impossible.

The issue occurs on all files, including different RAW formats and previews. It also appears when zooming or moving between modules.

Temporary fix:

Disabling GPU acceleration completely in Preferences > Performance resolves the issue. However, that’s not a long-term solution – this is high-end hardware and GPU acceleration should be fully supported.

When you reinstall the Nvidia Studio driver, be sure to check the "Clean Installation" box.

Hi, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry about the trouble!

You can try reinstalling the GPU drivers from Nvidia's website. I would recommend installing the Studio drivers instead of the Game Ready drivers. You can also check out: https://adobe.ly/3TmgxQ8

Let us know if it makes a difference!
Thanks,
