Lightroom classic is taking forever to rename an image

Lightroom classic is taking forever to rename an image. Not sure why. Just started two weeks ago. Catalogs have been optimized. All drivers updated. Recent catalot Adobe. Happened on Windows 10 and windows 11. Previous version of lightroom and current version. Have reached out to Adobe support 2x. They have not been able to help or resolve the issue.

Are your photos stored on a NAS on cloud service (e.g. Onedrive)?

Sharing the LrC System Info files would also help with diagnostics. You can obtain same from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. Use the Copy button at top right of the System Info dialog, then paste into your next forum post.

My photos have been stored in the same place for years. Never had a
problem before. They are stored on an external hard drive.

This all started about two weeks ago with no apparent reason.

1. Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

2. To identify whether it's an issue between LR and the external drive, put a photo on your Desktop, and import it with the "Add" option (so the photo stays on the desktop). Does the problem with renaming it occur?
