Lightroom classic keeps loading

Today I wanted to edit photo's in Lightroom Classic but when I open the application (MacOS) it keeps loading. The app is updated today it says in the creative cloud. I'm located in the Netherlands. How can I solve this issue? Restarting and shutting down and starting again does not help. Please see attachment.

Thanks!

@Sameer K Thank you for the quick response and apologies that my answer took a bit longer.
Once I open the catalog, I'm not able to go to 'Help', because the loading icon is there. The only thing I can do is force shutdown.

I tried the Apple update, because it still needed updates. But that unfortunately was also not the solution. In the meanwhile, I did figure out that I could open a new catalog and that is working. The problem seems to be in the catalog and not in Lightroom Classic.

Do you know by any chance how I can re-open my old catalog? I was almost done with editing, but can now restart again for a shoot... haha. Thank you!

Make careful note of the name of your old catalog and go to the folder where Lightroom Classic stores the backups. Unzip the newest until you find the proper one. Rename the problematic catalog, then copy the unzipped backup to the Lightroom Classic folder.  Double click on the backup catalog that is now in the Lightroom Classic folder. That will open Lightroom Classic with a hopefully recent backup.

Hey, @Ilse_Nollen4336. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Have you recently updated the OS? As primary steps, try this:

  • Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.
  • Monitor the Activity Monitor for any unexpected read-and-write operations.
  • Go to Lightroom Classic > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set it off if it is on Custom or Auto. If this shows any differences, please check this article to troubleshoot further: https://adobe.ly/3uYiJo4.
  • Ensure Lightroom Classic has the required permissions on the macOS: https://adobe.ly/4b8lTpV

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
