Question

Lightroom Classic Not Loading on Mac OS Sonoma

Lightroom classic is not loading on my Macbook Pro (2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5) which is now running OS Sonoma. The lightroom splashscreen appears then immediately it shutsdown; it was also doing this prior to upgrading to Sonoma.

Ive checked all the security settings and priveleges, uninstalled lightroom and reinstalled but still it wont load.

Suggestions please.

that realy doesnt help - the watermark issue is trivial compared with LRC not working

why is Lightroom Classic not marked as supported yet on Sonoma?  What are the issues preventing that?

If the issues listed in the two linked documents are not all of the issues, then for some reason Adobe has chosen not to disclose them. Sometimes this is because the cause of the bug is outside Adobe software. (Some compatibility bugs in the past have turned out to be a problem in macOS that required a macOS update to fix, but there is no info about that being the case here.)

Another factor is that the fixes might not come in version 12. Tomorrow morning, the Adobe MAX conference begins, and for the last few years that is the time Lightroom Classic goes up one major version number with a new upgrade release. We do not know at this time whether that is still going to happen the same way this year, but if it does, the next version may already be in development with Sonoma compatibility in mind. So let’s check this week and see if anything gets released, and if so, what its system requirements are.
