Question

Lightroom classic not opening (shows black rectangle with catelog name instead)

Hey, I am having trouble with getting lightroom to open. When ever I try to open a catelog all I end up with is a black rectangle with the name of one of my catelogs (always the same one not matter what catelog I try to open). The same catelog still works on a different device (connect via onedrive). Lightroom is also running in task manager. Has anybody had a similar issue to this and if so what are some possible solutions? Thanks in advance

'Where is the catalog stored, a hard drive be that internal or external, or a server share, be that a server, a NAS or the Cloud?

I ask due to the mention of OneDrive.

It is one thing (a bad thing) to auto sync a catalog to OneDrive. it would be quite another issue if the catalog was stored on and run at OneDrive. Adobe does not support LrC catalogs on server shares including the cloud.

yea the catelog is stored on onedrive and uploads automatically to the cloud (hasn't been an issue before though).

Could be that OneDrive is the problem now. Anyway, best if your catalog file and photos are NOT in a folder shared with OneDrive. A simple experiment moving the catalog to a different folder that is not shared with OneDrive will help determine if that is the cause of the problem or not.
