Lightroom Classic not reading raw files suddenly

I had built my library of around 8,000 photos with an old version of Lightroom that I had the license for. Images all came in via the "import" function from camera SD cards. Somewher along the line, Adobe rendered my version of Lightroom useless and so I ultimately paid for this "Lightroom Classic" subscription. I updated everything and it was all working just fine.

Something is now off and Lightroom says "file cannot be found" when I try to develop photos. I have checked the location and everything is still there. When I click "view in finder" it takes me to the correct RAF or CR2 file or folder. When I "update folder location" to the correct folder, nothing changes in lightroom. It's bizarre beacuse I can point lightroom to the correct raw file, and it will not read it.

Also, somehow, a bunch of my old raw photos have been converted to JPG format, essentially destryoing the images.

So far, I am not pleased with Lightroom Classic.

On Version 11.5

MacOS Ventura 13.1

Let's try this first since it's a new version under Ventura.

In System Preferences ((System Settings in Ventura), >Security & Privacy, >Full Disk Access, do you see Lightroom listed? If not, do add it and try again.

Brilliant, thanks so much! That was indeed the problem. One more thing to look out for.
