Question

Lightroom Classic not showing folder

Hello,

I have a folder on my Mac called "TopDog Obstacle Course" with photos within it.  I can see it in my Finder, but Lightroom Classic does not show it in it's library.  See shapshots.  The highlighted blue item is the one that's missing.  And LightRoom Classic won't import it as it says the photos are duplicatses, so I know they are here somewhere.

I've tried synching the entire library, with no success.
I've tried the "Find" feature in Lightroom with no sucess.

How do I find this folder in Lightroom?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

The photos have been (accidentally?) imported into LrC using COPY instead of ADD. So you can't import them again. LrC thinks they are in a different folder thanyou think they are in.

InClick on All Photographs, turn ff filters and using the Filter bar, search for 1 of these photos by filename.

Hi DJ.

Thanks for your help.

I've tried searching by folder name as well as by specific file name (of which there are 11 other files with the same exact name, which I'm attempting to wrap my brain around), but none of which are the correct photos I'm looking for.  I KNOW they are on LRc...SOMEWHERE.  Just don't know how to find them.

But you don't search by folder name. As i said, you search in All Photographs, turn off filters, and then search by File name.

When you import images from your hard disk into Lightroom, you will get the choice to just add them to the catalog, or move them to a new folder, or copy them to a new folder. It sounds like you inadvertently used the third option. That means the images are imported, but as copies and those copies are in another folder. Searching them by their original folder name won't work for that reason.

Lightroom also has an option to rename images on import... Go to 'All Photographs', sort by capture date and try to find the images by looking at the date you know(?) they were shot.
