Lightroom Classic Print to File (jpg) group problem

Windows 11, Lightroom Classic 12.4

I'm in the process of mirating from Mac to Windows, and have enountered an issue when using the print to file function - not export, not to printer, a jpg to desktop. On Mac I get a prompt to name the file once a folder has been selected. When I try to print a single to file in Windows I get the same prompt, but when I try print to file on a batch I get prompted for a folder, then the lot are exported without a prompt for a file name, instead naming them sequentialy with the folders name. I've been thru my mac settings and they look the same as my windows, but I've a nagging feeling I've come across this years ago and fixed it on mac, but no idea how to now.
