Lightroom classic randomly freezing.

I'm using Lightroom Classic with windows 10.

I've used it for years and I've never had an issue.

The past few months it's been freezing on me to where I have to shut the computer off and restart it.

it seemed to be just when I was exporting, but it's not.

it's just randomly freezing on me.

I have a great computer guy who has tried a few things, one being he replaced the hard drive. That didn't work.

im just not sure what to do or where to start.
im a very busy photographer, and advice would be so appreciated!

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

"The past few months it's been freezing on me to where I have to shut the computer off and restart it."

Which version of LrC are you running?

When you say LrC freezes, can you open up the Task Manager or is the entire computer frozen?  If not, open the Task Manager and see what's running. I once had an issues with W10 where I would 100% disk activity but no I/O (yes, I know, how does it determine 100% activity with no I/O but it did). This would last 4-5 minutes before whatever was causing the problem cleared up.

As someone mentioned, make sure you are up to date with drivers and other W10 updates. Also, depending on the version of LrC you are running, consider updating it.

Does LrC get slower and slower during a session?

Perhaps a RAM issue?

So if you have to shut the computer off and restart it, this is almost always caused a bad driver or a hardware malfunction. I would first re-install/update all drivers in your computer, and if that doesn't help then try running some deep diagnostics on all hardware.

Also, are there specific actions in Lightroom Classic that seem to precede this freeze? Or does it appear to you to be totally random?
