Lightroom classic recognises my external HD but does not find photos

Since the past 2 years I have been using the same external HD to edit photos in LRC. Since yesterday, LRC does not recognize the photos within the external HD. The HD is not corrupted since I can open all files and photos without any issue. When I try to import, LRC recoginzes the external HD but does not show or recognize any photos inside. The folders are now shown with a dotted arrow and not content within. The files have not been moved so the issue is not that LRC cannot find the photos beacuse they are missplaced. I can also use the external HD with Photoshop without any problems. Some screenshots below:
