Lightroom Classic Slideshow not working

Trying to create a five image slideshow in LRC. Tried to see a preview, it got stuck with the message "Preparing prview for slide #4". Also, clicking the checkbox "Zoom to Full Frame" has no effect. Images are all jpeg, 1920px wide. Perhaps a Big Sur problem?

Running LRC 10.11.1, macOS 11.2.3
